 The cheapest deal you're going to get on a security bit set September 6, 2010

There is very little to say here. For a lousy $5 (or less) I keep a spare set in my tool box. I work in alarm/security and at this price when I break or lose a bit, it is literally cheaper to replace the set. For convenience sake you can buy a multi-bit screwdriver from Lowes or Home Depot (the kind with the hollowed out handle that holds different size bits) and fill it with security bits and now you've got a security bit driver for cheap

The whole package was received in great condition. Some of the bits maybe 4 or 5 were out of their craddle, probably due to transportation.
I am very satisfied and this is a must have package for anyone into fixing repairing minuature or delicate mechanical objects.

These are standard-sized 1/4 inch hex bits with 5 different security patterns. A larger set is offered on this site, but they still are standard sizes. For example, the smallest Torx (star) in this set is a T8. So this set is mid-sized, that is the sizes appropriate for 1/4 inch drivers. If you are looking for smaller bits, look for the sets of 4 mm hex bits. For example, this Maxtech set: Maxtech 16521MX 32-Piece Precision Bit Set
The case is actually a soft rubbery compound and is quite compact. It is in two halves, with sufficient friction to hold the bits in while it is still easy to pull the bits out. A magnetic chuck is included for use with standard 1/4 inch drivers and drills.
When closed, the full case is 1 1/4 inch tall, 1 3/4 inch wide, and 2 1/2 inches long.
The bits are nice quality and properly machined. If they do not fit your screws, you aren't using the proper driver, either size or pattern. The "plus" or "Phillips"looking patterns are particularly difficult to see and match up. In smaller sizes it is also easy to visually confuse hex, torx, and M patterns.

Very cheap case, probably not worth keeping, but it did contain the one security bit that I needed.the price is certainly right.
